Tennessee - Kentucky Chapter (Fort Campbell, KY) 

March 2010 -  Our AUSA Chapter has adopted the Wounded Warrior Support Meetings at the Fisher House on Fort Campbell. The support meetings are every Thursday. The last Thursday of every month we feed the group lunch. Our Chapter is organizing this much like we organized the Welcome Home Ceremonies for our Division. We have team captains and will rotate through the teams for each month's luncheons. March's team captain is Carter Hendricks. Members of Carter's team served BBQ sandwiches, baked beans, coleslaw and potato salad. Tanya Hatley, Pete Miraldi and 3 other volunteers were there to serve lunch. Approximately 25 wounded warriors and families at the Fisher House were fed. The Fisher House volunteers say that AUSA spoils the Wounded Warriors! We love it!!


December 2009 - The chapter activated one of our "Welcome Home Teams" (Team 2 Captain Lana Bastin) to Welcome Home a returning flight of 160 SOLDIERS from 159th CAB. The Soldiers are redeploying from
Afghanistan after 12 months. The AUSA team starting setting up at 7:00am, making coffee, icing down drinks, making popcorn, putting out donuts and cookies for waiting family members, and keeping everything stocked for 3 1/2 hours. The soldiers FINALLY arrived at 10:30am to very happy families. Our Welcome Home Team made sure to welcome all the soldiers home.

The chapter activated one of our "Welcome Home Teams" (Team 4 Captain Sally Martino) to Welcome Home a returning flight of 129 SOLDIERS from 159th CAB. The Soldiers are redeploying from Afghanistan after 12 months. The AUSA team starting setting up at 10:40pm, making coffee, icing down drinks, making popcorn, putting out donuts and cookies for waiting family members, and keeping everything stocked for 4 hours. The soldiers FINALLY arrived at 3:00am to very happy families. Our Welcome Home Team made sure to welcome all the soldiers home.

The Soldiers are redeploying from Afghanistan after 12 months. The AUSA team starting setting up at 8:30am, making coffee, icing down drinks, making popcorn, putting out donuts and cookies for waiting family members, and keeping everything stocked for 4 hours. November 2009 - We activated one of our "Welcome Home Teams" (Team 4 Captain Sally Martino) to Welcome Home a returning flight of 272 SOLDIERS from 159th CAB. The Soldiers are redeploying from Afghanistan after 12 months. The AUSA team starting setting up at 6:15am, making coffee, icing down drinks, making popcorn, putting out donuts and cookies for waiting family members, and keeping everything stocked for 4 hours. The soldiers FINALLY arrived at 9:45am to very happy families. Our Welcome Home Team made sure to welcome all the soldiers home.

May 2009 - We activated one of our "Welcome Home Teams" (Team 1: Captain Phil Harpel) to Welcome Home a returning flight of 107 SOLDIERS from 101st DSTB! The soldiers are redeploying from Afghanistan after 15 months. The AUSA team starting setting up at 12:15pm, making coffee, hot chocolate, icing down drinks, making popcorn, putting out donuts and cookies for waiting family members, and keeping everything stocked for 3 1/2 hours. The soldiers FINALLY arrived at 3:50pm to very happy families. Our Welcome Home Team made sure to welcome all the soldiers home.


Feb 2009:

Our Chapter is organizing this much like we organized the Welcome Home Ceremonies for our Division. We have team captains and will rotate through the teams for each month's luncheons. January's team captain was Carter Hendricks. Members of Carter's team brought in food from Quiz no’s. 3 volunteers from their team helped serve the soldier’s lunch, along with board members, Carter Hendricks and Tanya Hatley. Approximately 30 wounded warriors and families at the Fisher House were fed. The Fisher House volunteers say that AUSA spoils the Wounded Warriors! We love it!!
