Mediterranean Chapter (Vicenza, Italy)

The United States Army Southern European Task Force (SETAF) is honoring those individuals who served their nation and gave the ultimate sacrifice in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq. This monument will be a constant reminder to those individuals who remain that their freedom is not free but championed by our fallen comrades in arms. This monument will be placed in a position of honor on Caserme Ederle here in Vicenza, Italy.

We are seeking donations to fund this special project. The Soldiers and families of SETAF stationed and living in Vicenza, Italy, sponsor this initiative. As the President of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Mediterranean Chapter, our organization was asked by the Commanding General of SEATF to solicit and collect donations for this honorable endeavor.

It is with honor and gratitude that I solicit your donation/contribution. It is our goal to begin construction on this project by Spring/Summer 2006. We have an estimate of 22,000 EURO and as of the date on this letter, we have collected just under $7,000.

It is our duty as a people and nation to ensure that their memories continually remind us all of the freedoms we enjoy. Thank you for your time in considering this great opportunity to honor our fallen warriors and their families. The legacy of our nations heroes relies on such memorials of remembrance.

Contributions may be made payable to: Mediterranean Chapter of AUSA Memorial Fund and mailed to the following address: President Mediterranean Chapter AUSA, C/O SGM Richard W. Weik, CMR 427 Box 3544, APO AE 09630.
