GA Omar N. Bradley Chapter (El Paso/Fort Bliss, TX) 

May 2010 - Chapter President Gus Rodriguez and Chapter Vice President Tom Thomas met with the administrative team of the El Paso Mental Health Authority to discuss the community plan to address the return of the Soldiers of 4/1 AD and the future return of 1/1 AD.  The authroity has been given a building by the City of El Paso to provide for mental health services free of charge for redeployed Soldiers and their families.  In addition, they are working various community outreaches to inform not only healthcare professionals but also educators.

April 2010 - Unit Guardian Ready One provided their Soldiers in the 121st BSB with welcome bags as they prepared to redeploy from Iraq.  The bags were placed in the rooms of 265 single Soldiers.  The Camo Ditty bags, manufactured by Ability One disabled workers, were filled with boxes of candies, snacks and toiletries.  Employees at the 1200 person strong manufacturing plant provided the items and Ready One donated the bags.  The value of the donation was around $2750.00.  Ready one serves as a unit guardian for two units and has just committed to adopt the Warrior Transition Battalion at Fort Bliss. 


January 2010 - Through the Chapter Wounded Warrior, the Chapter purchased two round trip flights tickets and a car rental for wounded warrior, SSG John Webb and his wife to return home on emergency leave for his mom's funeral.  The cost to the Chapter was $2706.00. 



December 2009 -  Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Fund and with verification from the Soldier Family Assistance Program, the Chapter was able to support SPC Kenny Bryant with financial assistance to pay for a round trip flight ticket to return home for the funeral of a family member.  The cost to the Chapter was $438.90.

Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Fund and with verification from the Soldier Family Assistance Program, the Chapter was able to support SSG Baltazar Vela with financial assistance by paying an over due rent payment.  The cost to the Chapter was $1512.55.

Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Fund and with verification from the Soldier Family Assistance Program, the Chapter was able to support SPC Jarrod Williams with financial assistance by paying an over due rent payment.  The cost to the Chapter was $1237.50.

Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Fund and with verification from the Soldier Family Assistance Program, the Chapter was able to support SPC Reymundo Vasquez with financial assistance to pay for the funeral of a family member.  The cost to the Chapter was $700.00.

Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Fund and with verification from the Soldier Family Assistance Program, the Chapter was able to support SGT Eddieson Taeoalii with financial assistance to pay for a round trip flight ticket to return home to Guam for his father's funeral.  The cost to the Chapter was $1567.20.

Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Fund and with verification from the Soldier Family Assistance Program, the Chapter was able to support PVT Mario Roanhorse with financial assistance to pay for over due rent payment.  The cost to the Chapter was $785.00.

Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Fund and with verification from the Soldier Family Assistance Program, the Chapter was able to support PV2 Brenton Stowers with financial assistance to pay for his wife’s hotel stay.  The cost to the Chapter was $200.00.

Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Home for the Holidays Fund and with verification from the Unit Leadership, the Chapter was able to support SGT Rodney Bruno with a round trip flight ticket home.  The cost to the Chapter was $370.90.

Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Home for the Holidays Fund and with verification from the Unit Leadership, the Chapter was able to support SGT Teresa Greer with a round trip flight ticket home.  The cost to the Chapter was $339.70

Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Home for the Holidays Fund and with verification from the Unit Leadership, the Chapter was able to support SGT Michael Bragg with a round trip flight ticket home.  The cost to the Chapter was $827.90.

Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Home for the Holidays Fund and with verification from the Unit Leadership, the Chapter was able to support SGT Andrew Fox with a round trip flight ticket home.  The cost to the Chapter was $503.40

Holiday Party for the Soldiers and family members of the Warrior Transition Battalion. The Chapter has been a strong supporter of the unit over the past year. As a part of its commitment to support the WTB, the Chapter picked up the expense of the party at a cost of $5700.00.  In addition to the party expenses, the Chapter supported gifts for children of WTB Soldiers.  Santa was an honored guest at party and he made the gift presentations.  The overall cost to the Chapter was $6100.00.

Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Fund, the Chapter was able to support SPC Ronald Kapture with financial assistance by paying an over due daycare payment.  The cost to the Chapter was $625.00.

Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Home for the Holidays Fund and with verification from the Unit Leadership, the Chapter was able to support SGT Barry Perkins with a round trip flight ticket home.  The cost to the Chapter was $372.20

Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Home for the Holidays Fund and with verification from the Unit Leadership, the Chapter was able to support SGT Steven Gibson with a round trip flight ticket home.  The cost to the Chapter was $616.90

Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Home for the Holidays Fund and with verification from the Unit Leadership, the Chapter was able to support SGT Leterra Clark with a round trip flight ticket home.  The cost to the Chapter was $478.00

Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Home for the Holidays Fund and with verification from the Unit Leadership, the Chapter was able to support SGT Othello Vital with a round trip flight ticket home.  The cost to the Chapter was $359.70

Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Fund, the Chapter was able to support SPC Ryan Brown with financial assistance by paying an over due rent payment.  The cost to the Chapter was $674.00. The rent was two months past due and the Soldier was in danger of eviction.

Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Fund, the Chapter was able to support SPC Marco Guzman with financial assistance by paying an over due car payment.  The cost to the Chapter was $455.36.

Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Fund, the Chapter was able to support SSG Baltazar Vela with financial assistance by paying an over due car payment.  The cost to the Chapter was $921.09.

Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Fund, the Chapter was able to support SSG Scott Harden with financial assistance by paying an over due rent payment.  The cost to the Chapter was $995.00.

Through the Chapter's Wounded Warrior program, the Chapter was able to help SPC Peter Santos pay his delinquent water bill.  The cost to the Chapter was $165.23

Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Home for the Holidays Fund and with verification from the Unit Leadership, the Chapter was able to support SGT Matthew Garrick with a round trip flight ticket home.  The cost to the Chapter was $2108.40

Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Home for the Holidays Fund and with verification from the Unit Leadership, the Chapter was able to support SPC Victor Cardona with a round trip flight ticket home.  The cost to the Chapter was $425.20

Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Home for the Holidays Fund and with verification from the Unit Leadership, the Chapter was able to support SGT Sherman Hill with a round trip flight ticket home.  The cost to the Chapter was $431.70

Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Home for the Holidays Fund and with verification from the Unit Leadership, the Chapter was able to support SGT Luther Boyett with a round trip flight ticket home.  The cost to the Chapter was $824.90


November 2009 -  Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Fund and with verification from the Soldier Family Assistance Program, the Chapter was able to support SSG Jimmy Devora with financial assistance to make an over due mortgage payment.  The cost to the Chapter was $1072.91.

Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Fund and with verification from the Soldier Family Assistance Program, the Chapter was able to support SSG Rodney Ridgeway with financial assistance to pay for an over due utility.  The cost to the Chapter was $450.00.

Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Fund and with verification from the Soldier Family Assistance Program, the Chapter was able to support SGT Robert Hawk with financial assistance to pay for an over due rent payment.  The cost to the Chapter was $565.00.
 


October 2009 - Through the Bradley Chapter's Wounded Warrior Fund and with verification from the Soldier Family Assistance Program, the Chapter was able to support SGT Kenny Rocha with financial assistance to pay for a past due mortgage payment.  The cost to the Chapter was $1007.00.

The Bradley Chapter donated a flight ticket to SGT Jack Watkins to return home on a family emergency.  SGT Watkins is a Soldier in the Wounded Warrior Program at Fort Bliss and had to return home for a family emergency.  Unfortunately, he was unable to purchase the ticket so the Chapter provided the funds for his round trip flight.  The cost to the Chapter was $329.00.

The Chapter purchased two flight tickets for the children of wounded warrior SGT Rein.  SGT Rein is a single Mom who had hoped that her orders would be finalized so that her children could ride home back with her.  The cost of the tickets were $500.00

The Bradley Chapter purchased a flight ticket for a wounded warrior to return home to be with his family for the sudden death of his father.  The round trip ticket to Alabama cost the Chapter $512.00.  In addition, the Chapter provided a $60.00 Visa gift card for personal expenses.  Total cost to the Chapter was $572.00


September 2009:  Working with Corporate Member, Pizza Hut, the Chapter donated TV's and play station to the Wounded Warrior Family Assistance Center.  The center supports Soldiers and family members who are a part of the Warrior Transition Battalion.  The equipment will be used by Soldiers and family members alike.  The cost to the Chapter is $4013.00.  The Chapter is working with the unit to support future projects.


March 2009  The Bradley Chapter hosted 180 soldiers and family members of 1-43 ADA as soldier’s awaited deployment to the CENTCOM AOR.  120 soldiers departed on the flight scheduled to touch down in Kuwait. The Chapter provided water soft drinks, pastries snacks for not only family members but also for the long flight.  The cost to the Chapter was $375.00.
