Petraeus nominated for CENTCOM chief
Gen. David Petraeus, commander of Multi-National Force – Iraq, will be nominated to become the next Central Command commander, succeeding Adm. William Fallon who retired.

Three firms to split LOGCAP contract
Logistics-support services in Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan will now be split among three companies: DynCorp, KBR and Fluor Intercontinental Inc.

Army to inspect conditions of all barracks
The Army is scheduled to complete a worldwide walk-through inspection of all barracks on more than 155 installations in early May to ensure that soldiers are not living in buildings that should be demolished and under conditions that could endanger their safety, life and health.

Army Reserve celebrates 100 years
Recalling a recent re-enlistment ceremony involving Army Reserve soldiers in Iraq, Lt. Gen. Jack Stultz said that he was proud to command “the most professional, most dedicated and most combat experienced soldiers” in the organization’s 100-year history.
