He or she has had up-close and personal encounters with a recruiter and a drill sergeant. Something Completely Different (07/01/2004) Staff Sgt. Rigoberto Alcala had a weekend to decide whether to leave his position at the burn unit at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio and move to Miami to become part of something completely different in Army medical training. He opted to come to the Ryder Trauma Center where he and a few others were going to teach doctors, nurses and medics how to function as a team.

A Great Soldier's Life (01/24/2002) On Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, Silas L. Copeland, sergeant major of the Army, retired, died at the Conroe Regional Medical Center, Conroe, Texas, following a brief illness. He was a great soldier and will be missed dearly. SMA Copeland had a long and distinguished career in both peace and war.
