AUSA Global Force Symposium will Host STEM Students, ROTC Cadets

The Redstone-Huntsville Chapter of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) has launched an initiative to invite students involved in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education at local colleges and universities to attend the 2015 AUSA Global Force Symposium and Exposition. The AUSA Global Force Symposium and Exposition (formerly known as the AUSA Winter Symposium) will be at Huntsville’s Von Braun Center from March 31 – April 2.   “This is a great opportunity for the future workforce to learn about potential careers as Army civilians or contractors,” an AUSA official said. STEM students from University of Alabama in Huntsville, Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University, Jacksonville State University, and Calhoun Community College will visit the Global Force Symposium and Exposition exhibit floor and interact with government, military and defense industry leaders, learning about the future of the United States Army.Students will also have the opportunity to learn about potential careers as Army civilians or contractors – the future workforce that will deliver the innovations to make Force 2025 leaner, smarter, more flexible, and more lethal. In addition, STEM students are also invited to attend Global Force Symposium and Exposition panel discussions to understand the future challenges that will require their STEM talents. As experienced scientists and engineers retire, retaining the young professional workforce is essential to building a force that will maintain a competitive overmatch against our nation’s potential adversaries. Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) cadets are also invited to sessions and the exhibit floor to expose them to the technology they will employ as future leaders in the Total Force Army, or as employees who support the Army.   For more information on the AUSA Global Force Symposium and Exposition, visit: http://ausameetings.org/globalforce/ .
